History

The beginnings of the building go back to the second half of 14th century. The books say that the tenement belonged to the Podyks family until the war.

In 1872 a thorough modernisation design of the building was approved according to which, among other modifications, the shape of windows was changed from the renaissance into the modern rectangular one to better match the architectural preferences of Wroc³aw at that time.

The renovation in 1872 contributed to preservation of the splendid polychromium ceilings which, covered with wooden boards and plastered at that time, having now been slightly renovated, make a wonderful decoration of the Vincent Cafe, the Starry Hall and the Gallery. Just after the war, General Anders' driver was allotted a flat in the tenement on the first floor.
